[Citizens National Bank Helps Blanchard Valley Veterinary Clinic Show Healthy Growth]
When Dr. Chris Freeman heard the veterinary practice he’d shadowed at was going to be for sale in 2005, he was thrilled at the idea of becoming the new owner of the Blanchard Valley Veterinary Clinic (BVVC) and moving home to Findlay. A 2003 graduate of the Veterinary School at the Ohio State University, he was practicing in Bloomington, IN at the time. He developed a business plan and contacted several financial institutions to discuss how to make his dream a reality. Unfortunately, he was met with resistance from many and he says, “Citizens National Bank was the only one that listened to what I wanted to do and was willing to make it happen.” He met with Steve Ritter and Don Pfister from CNB’s Findlay location. “Steve and Don really took the time to understand how I wanted the structure of my company to be and they made it work,” says Dr. Freeman. Working with CNB, Dr. Freeman created two companies, a real estate company and the clinic itself and was able to finance them both through two separate loans. “They asked me what my goals were for the next 5 to 10 years and then structured my funding accordingly. I really feel they did a good job of providing what I asked for,” explains Dr. Freeman.
Since closing the deal in January 2006, Dr. Freeman’s practice is thriving and he says the added convenience of products such as the Courier service, make all the difference to his small staff. “In the past, someone had to make a trip to the bank daily for our cash needs and deposits. Now, with the courier service, no one has to go to the bank and everything is delivered to us directly. Not having to take that time out of our day is certainly a convenience,” comments Dr. Freeman.
Dr. Freeman really feels CNB has gone above and beyond in providing the customer service he needs to have his business run efficiently and plan for the future. Explains Dr. Freeman, “Steve and Don understand my vision and whenever I need something done, I know they’ll take care of it. They really provide the hometown feel that I try to give my clients and I credit them with bringing this doctor home again!”
BVVC is located at 1930 N. Main St., Findlay. Dr. Freeman specializes in cats and dogs.
