[Choosing the Right Checking Account]
Just as every person is unique, so no two people's finances are the same either. For this reason, several different types of checking acccounts are available to personalize your banking. When selecting an account, it's important to provide the customer service representative (CSR) with as much information as possible. For example; your age, your financial goals, whether or not you'll use this as a primary account or an emergency fund, etc... The more information the CSR has, the more likely you are to be satisfied with your account and not encounter any surprises.
Some things to keep in mind before opening an account include:
How much money will you regularly keep in the account?
Some accounts require minimum balances to avoid fees. Will this be a sole or joint account?
All parties will need to sign the account disclosures. Is earning interest important to you?
Are you concerned about monthly fees?
Will you have Direct Deposit or automatic payments linked to the account?
Do you have other accounts or loans with our bank?
Some accounts reward you for a combined relationship with our bank by offering higher interest rates or ATM surcharge rebates.
