For the past 3 newsletters, I have discussed COVID-19 and its impact on the bank and on our local economies. While this pandemic still dominates the headlines, I am hopeful there is light at the end of the tunnel. Ohio residents are getting vaccinated, our daily case rates are declining and we’re able to remove our masks, should we choose to do so, and end occupancy restrictions. The question remains, what will the new normal be?

During 2021, we have assisted hundreds of our business and agricultural customers through the SBA PPP (Paycheck Protection Program), closing more than 960 loans! These loans have helped new and existing customers retain thousands of local employees impacted by COVID-19. I could not be more proud of our Team and the outstanding work we accomplished.

In speaking with our Market Presidents and local business customers, I know some are still challenged with attracting and hiring new employees. Another challenge I have heard is obtaining supplies. The supply chain was disrupted so much with COVID delays, it is just now catching up. Despite these challenges, with summer days and blue skies ahead of us, it feels as if we finally have momentum and our economy will take off.

How has your business been impacted? Are you looking to expand and need assistance? Speak with your local CNB contact today. We are here to help you return to your normal!
